Classic Beef Burger
The ultimate smash burger with crispy edges, melted cheese, and all the classic toppings. This is the burger that will make you question every fast food joint you've ever visited.
Ingredients
- •500g beef mince (80/20 fat ratio)
- •4 brioche buns
- •4 slices American cheese
- •1 white onion, thinly sliced
- •Pickles, to serve
- •Lettuce, to serve
- •2 tomatoes, sliced
- •Burger sauce (mayo, ketchup, mustard, pickle juice)
- •Salt and pepper
- •Butter for toasting buns
Instructions

Divide beef mince into 4 equal balls (125g each). Do not season yet.

Heat a cast iron skillet over very high heat until smoking.

Butter the cut sides of the buns and toast in the pan until golden. Set aside.

Place a beef ball on the hot skillet and immediately smash flat with a spatula. Season generously with salt and pepper.

Cook for 90 seconds until edges are crispy and brown. Flip once.

Add a slice of cheese immediately after flipping. Cook for 45 more seconds.

Build the burger: sauce on bottom bun, lettuce, tomato, patty with cheese, pickles, onions, more sauce on top bun.
